The Language Tree
The Language Tree provides comprehensive, easy-to-follow, step-by-step, online video instruction programs that guide you in teaching your child to read and write the English language and excel in literacy.

Online School Readiness Program
Helping you prepare your child for school
Ages: 4–6 years
Literacy Fun-da-men-tools is aimed at pre-school children who are due to start school in the upcoming academic term or two.
The transition from home to formalised schooling can be challenging for many children; socially, emotionally and educationally.
The program builds competence in seven fundamental areas:
1. Sound to Letter Correspondence (Sound Cards)
2. Syllables
3. Letter Formation & Drawing
4. Auditory Discrimination
5. Following Instructions
6. Rhyme
7. First Sound Identification
The online program includes an initial 20-minute zoom consultation with Vicki, The Language Tree’s founder.

Literacy Read & Write
Online Literacy Program
Highly effective literacy acquisition program
Ages: 5 ½ years and above
Literacy Read & Write is aimed at primary aged children plus older children with developmental delay and/or specific impairment in reading, or dyslexia.
Literacy is essential for life-long learning, communication and employment. It is vital for children to have solid literacy skills in place in order to feel confident when tackling school work and to achieve success in learning and in life.
The program builds competence in seven fundamental areas:
1. Sound to Letter Correspondence (Sound Cards)
2. Letter Formation & Motor Planning
3. Blending Letter Sounds
4. Whole Word Reading
5. Spelling Rules for Accurate Reading Pronunciation
6. Reading Comprehension.

Meet Vicki,
'The Playful Expert'
Vicki Selwyn-Barnett, The Language Tree’s creator and founder is a qualified speech & language pathologist with over 30 years experience. She runs a busy clinic in Sydney and is qualified in many methods including: Makaton sign language, The Spalding Method®, parent-child interaction, Integrated Listening Systems (iLs), & is a trained Defeat Autism Now (DAN) Practitioner.
Vicki created The Language Tree’s online programs in response to hundreds of parents requests for home-based literacy support. Literacy Fun-da-men-tools and Literacy Read and Write are the online versions of the tried, tested and results-driven methods that Vicki has been practising in the clinic for the last 20 years. Vicki and her team have helped thousands of children to excel in literacy, close gaps in their learning and thrive at school.
